Joel Clum
President

Joel is a senior finance major and has been with SCNO since autumn of 2005. Since joining the group, he has assumed the roles of General Member, Team Lead and Project Manager. Joel spent the previous summer with P&M; Corporate Finance, a middle-market investment bank, where he conducted valuation analysis and general industry practices in their Plastics & Packaging vertical. He is also a member of the Financial Markets Institute and is a Resident Mentor in West Circle. Following his graduation this Spring, Joel will be joining the management consulting division of Accenture in their Chicago office.

Mark Miller
Vice President of Operations

Mark is a senior Finance/German major and has been a part of SCNO since fall 2005. This past summer, Mark interned with GE Transportation in Erie, PA. Mark has been to 14 countries and has lived in Germany 3 times. He insists on having fun wherever he is and loves seeing new places and doing new things. He's gone skydiving in Switzerland, Bungee Jumped in Mexico (probably a bad choice, but survived), and hopes to balance a personal life, running, working out, and travel with a successful career.

 
 

Brittany Sovran
Director of Community Development

Brittany is a junior Advertising major and has been a part of SCNO since fall 2007. Prior to her current role as Director of Community Development, she was a General Member. She spent her first two years of college on scholarship as a volleyball player at the University of Akron and spent fall 2006 as a marketing intern for the University of Akron’s Sports Marketing Department. This past summer, she did a study abroad in Rome, Italy and traveled Europe. She hopes to one day open her own Non-Profit Organization targeting youth athletics.

Melissa Barlett
Director of Human Resources

Melissa is a senior supply chain management major. Since joining SCNO in 2005, she has been a General Member, Team Lead, Project Manager and Director of Human Resources, her current position. Melissa spent her summer as a Vendor Managed Inventory Planner with S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. where she was managed a high profile dollar store account. In addition to SCNO, she works as a Residence Hall Desk Receptionist and participates in IM soccer and broomball.

Jim Vermeulen
Director of Corporate Relations

Jim is an accounting major entering his senior year at Michigan State. During his time with SCNO, he has assumed the roles of General Member, Team Lead and the Director of Corporate Relations, his current position. This year, his main goal for SCNO is to facilitate relationships between members and business professionals. During the summer, Jim worked for a small accounting firm in Bloomfield Hills, primarily in the tax and monthly accounting practices. In his free time, Jim enjoys sailing and traveling.

Avish Bhama
Director of Finance

Avish is a senior economics major and joined SCNO in the spring semester of 2007. Prior to his current position as Director of Finance, Avish was a General Member. This past summer, he interned with Merrill Lynch in their Private Banking and Investment Management group in NYC. Avish is also an avid trader in global markets. He hopes to one day focus his lucrative earnings on substantial philanthropic ventures. In addition to his interest in investments, Avish is also a dedicated sports fan, specifically of the Detroit Red Wings and New England Patriots.

 
 

Nicholas Chilenko
Director of Information Technology

Nick is a junior marketing major and first joined SCNO in the spring of 2007. Before becoming the IT director he served as a team lead. While still a student in middle school, Nick launched his first Website design firm which received praises from The Detroit News, The Mitch Albom Show, Fox 2 Detroit and several other media outlets. Shortly after, his company was acquired by Motor City Interactive, where he went on to serve as Creative Director working with companies such as ABN AMRO, Ford, Microsoft and AAA. Currently, Nick owns a Website design and online marketing agency and partner in Lead Generation Consulting, which operates over 2000 lead generation and advertising websites.

Mike Gallagher
Project Manager

Mike is an honors Economics and Finance senior. Prior to his current role as Project Manager, he held positions as a General Member and Team Lead. He spends most of his time working with SCNO, VITA, and the new Financial Literacy program. Mike interned this summer in portfolio risk management at State Farm Bank.

Jason Peters
Project Manager

Jason is junior finance major and joined SCNO during the 2007 Spring Semester. He was previously a General Member and now assumes the role of Project Manager. During the past summer, Jason spent much of his time at the lake getting a tan and wakeboarding, as well as working for a landscaping company. Jason enjoys playing sports and having a good time on campus.

Nick Smott
Project Manager

Nick is a junior supply chain management major and has been with SCNO since Fall Semester of 2006. Prior to his current Project Manager position, Nick assumed the roles of General Member and Team Lead. This past summer, he interned with Graphic Packaging International, where he was involved in their continuous improvement and six-sigma programs within SAP. During the second half of the summer, Nick studied abroad in London and traveled to other European countries on the weekends. He is a huge sports fan and is always on the look-out for pickup games. Nick looks forward to meeting everyone and being involved on the Executive Board to continue the successful tradition of SCNO.
